Special Feature - as the gorgeous Sony Vaio N505SN is rapidly becoming the trademark laptop of Extreme Tuesday clubmembers, we review its successor, the SR1K. Rob and Pauline showed us their Extreme Programming Masterclass course. The material is essentially the TheBook and C2Wiki reworked (however it looked nicely formatted and more approachable). We raised issues with hands on experience, which they both took an board as a fair comment (they have access to good XP contacts whom they have hired to help them with the course). We had a long discussion about which principles you can start with (echoes of our OtXpBalloonDebate from OT-2000) - we raised the issue that its a very difficult balance to maintain and dropping any practice is very tricky. We also discussed the cost of recruitment - which can be measured in a good xp team by their LoadFactor (at ConneXtra we have measurements of this and can see the impact). This was an issue close to Paulines's heart and she wanted to discuss it more. -- TimM Quote of the week: anon? How do you turn a test off in JUnit? Ivan? Why do you ask? anon?
