PragmaticProgrammersLunch

There will be an extraordinary meeting of the ExtremeTuesdayClub.

DaveThomas? and AndrewHunt? (The PragmaticProgrammers?) will be in town on Thursday 28th September. They're free for lunch.

We'll meet at BishopsFinger at 12:30

Please log in here. We've booked some space upstairs

Just to say a big thank you for your hospitality and a fun lunch. Hope to see you all again sometime. --- Dave

The lunch was a big sucess (apart from Dave managing to avoid being properly photographed -- see below).

Interesting topics of conversation were:

  • Which XP practices raise the most fear (and are not practised by people) - PairedProgramming seemed to fall in this category
  • How to you do XP with multiple teams all wanting to support reuse
  • What does XP say about building "upfront infrastructure" that can save you time in the long run?
    • This one was an interesting point as things like the BigBenTools fall into this category. We agreed that "upfront" should not mean right at the start so that you have an idea of exactly what you need and can bound it in some way. It was also felt that building time should take no longer that a day or two.

[1] Andy takes the limelight [2] Dave - stop moving!
