DynamicSystemsDevelopmentMethod

Kent Beck referenced a book on DSDM in his article about XP: "XP Embrace Change"

Some things that DSDM has in common with XP:

  • Short cycles (called time boxes)
  • Simple design
  • The system evolves throughout the process
  • The system design evolves thoughout the process
  • Don't anticipate on what you might need in future time boxes
  • Tasks are given priorities. Do the most important task first, and the least important task last.
  • Close customer-cooperation (though not as close as with XP)

Mark, you can also find an initial comparison at http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?CompareDsdmAndXp

There's a mini DSDM conference coming up on 11th Sept, 2002 (see www.dsdm.org/conference2002). JimHighsmith who is giving the DSDM keynote has offered to come and talk to us at TheOldBankOfEngland afterwards on Thurs 12th Sept. ³³agent³Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)³DynamicSystemsDevelopmentMethod
