I worked on several large projects such as:

www.bt.com*. I was sole developer, working alongside two designers. My code was Broadvision compliant.
In other work for BT I implemented these skills further. My role also involved consultation with clients and back-end developers.
http://www.esselte.com. I worked alongside Esselte's own people developing a site in ATG Dynamo, another dynamic content provision package. Again, I was involved in the planning and implementation of the site.
http://www.solus.net*. Our team built a working, if small, online shop in javascript to illustrate how this online transaction authentication system would function. Solus have now changed their name to Quizid.

SKILLS GAINED:

In this position, I was webmaster for a complex site ( http://www.research.wdr.com )interfacing with Domino and SQL databases, and both designed and supported new intranet sites within the bank. I was involved in First, second and third line support for external clients. I administered sites based on Netscape Enterprise Server and Apache, running on Solaris and NT systems, including the bank’s proxy server for External web access. I was also involved in the bank’s IRC (Internet Relay Chat) system.

This was a rolling contract at AT&T, a fast-moving environment using NT, Windows95, Exchange & MS Office. As part of Tier 2 support, I learned much about NT running TCP/IP. I was part of a Web development team here, too.

During my time at SBC/SBC Warburg, I switched roles from Graphic Designer/ Operator to Proof-reader/Editor to Editor/Technical Support/Network Administrator. I was also heavily involved in a redefinition of the house style.

I continued to put the knowledge and skills I had gained to good use in a series of temporary DTP and Graphic Design assignments and contracts. I was also editor of ‘Mangazine’ - a magazine for Manga Entertainment - during this period. It was a project I took from start to its eventual amalgamation into a professional magazine, handling design, DTP, Proof reading, Editorial, and liaising with Manga Entertainment about direction..

From leaving College I was:

A programmer in PL/1 for a small business solutions company;
In retail for 8 years with Games Workshop, rising to manager of the London branch;
In Market Research, first with a company called Accent, then BMSL;
Working for an oil services company dealing with the digitisation of Oil Well logs;
In a dual role involving technical support for Macs/PCs and DTP/Proof-reading.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS

All types of music except country & western, Dancing, DJing/Mixing, Making Music.

Drawing/Painting/Computer Generated Imagery/3D Modelling: Myself & friends founded, ran and folded Congress Press, an independent comic company - I was involved in Lettering, Artwork & Scripting. I’m currently collating a series of pictures for publishing my own book.

Collectable Card Games, Role-Playing, Board & Tabletop Wargaming & other games. I was knocked out in the quarter finals of a recent national card game tournament.
