What Happened?

The std of food has declined. No bread and no salad available. Beer was fine.

Welcome to new comers AlexThomas and TamaraGalloway (there are women in IT after all!). Ivan briefed us on XP2000 - well done to the MockBoys on their successful workshop. No pairing occurred, except in respect of a plate of chips.

An enjoyable time was had trying to perduade poor Tamara (a C programmer) to forget C++ and move straight to Java. It seems a lot of people still have this idea that Java isn't a serious language, and anyway C++ must be a more natural and easier progression, right? (Alex immediately enamoured himself with Ivan by chipping in that she should learn Smalltalk instead!)

Sadly, for him, (the elusive) KeithBraithwaite contracted a severe cold immediately upon setting foot on British soil, and was in bed most of last week, sucking down coedine and steroids.
