Don't be put off if you have never done this sort of thing before, neither had we! There is plenty of help available from people who have done it in previous years. We use many approaches: pairing, shadowing, mentoring, picking up the pieces when somebody has dropped something...

Also, don't be put off if you don't think you are part of 'the group'. We would much rather there wasn't 'a' group. Without a constant flow of new people and ideas, the conference will stagnate. On which point, if you feel we are doing something completely wrong, would like to show us the error of our ways and show us how do it right, we most definitely would like to hear from you.

We currently have particular need for:

• venue liason -- The venue is booked. We need a single point of contact between the committee and the venue, for example what food was agreed, how many chairs in each room. That sort of thing.
