JSPWiki v2.0.52

XPD-WikiScript

It was always our intention to preserve the simplicity of the original Wiki script, but add those features that were annoying enough to merit some attention. How much has been done using XP? -- OliBye ;) - Shhh, we're working on this-- TimM ; - Did you guys do this as a LoneRanger or PairProgramming ? I'd like to contribute but I can't work on my own any more -- PaulSimmons

The history of our Wiki script is as follows:

1. Original comes from Wiki.WikiWikiWeb? as created by Wiki.WardCunningham

2. WikiPortland Collaborative Document Server with Portland State Extensions. 12/23/1997, Version 1.0 - W. Robert Daasch, EE, Portland State University.

  • Collate command to join pages together
  • Replaced the dbm database with a database using a common subdirectory
  • Separates the embedded capitals of the page names in the HTML.

3. March 1999, OliBye managed to get the WikiPortland script running on OkChicken

4. April 1999, TimMackinnon began a RecreationalProgrammingProject? to fix annoying things in the script

  • TimM - Button based menu
  • TimM - XPD-WikiImprovedHyperlinks support (now uses numbers and better mixed case) so you don't have to munge words to force a hyperlink
  • TimM - The use of the * character for XPD-WikiTabs (makes it easier ot type them in), removal of the Portland spacing in words as they became a nuisance
  • TimM - XPD-WikiAliasSupport
  • TimM - Refresh button to drop out of Post mode after a save (we show the saved page immediately when you press save, but unfortunately you are still in post-mode until you press refresh)
  • TimM - Reversed the changes list for easier viewing
  • TimM - Hyperlinks can now contain the "-" character, e.g. BM-ProductDefinition (this helps with namespacing)
  • TimM - the Docs. alias can now contain path separators (i.e. / ) and %20, meaning you can easily point to subdirectories like /sample/cool%20products.html.
  • OliBye - added a stylesheet reference to the generated output and created the XPD-WikiStyleSheet

Questions

  • Is this Wiki open sourced? KimptoC, In as much as Wards original script is, yes. I've put a link to it at the top.
