WikiPageForIssuesRaisedByDuncanAndPeter

DuncanPierce and PeterBrown raised some issues about the way we organize things at XtC/XpDay. This wiki page is basically a way to catalogue the issues raised. Or at least those which I remembered. Please feel free to sign up and take them on.--ade

  • Setting up an xtc-announce mailing list to notify members (especially the irregulars) about special events like XtcClinic and to offer a better way to keep people informed of things like requests for help with organising events. We already have xp-agile-uk-events which was set up for this purpose. Do we need another dedicated list? I note that no on has posted anything about XtcClinc? there yet. --RachelDavies
  • 'The Tyranny of Structurelessness' by Jo Freeman see also my blog where I first raised the relevance of this paper to XtC, the key thing is that if we were to adopt a classic membership structure we think it would kill the free flowing network part of XtC --RachelDavies
  • Finding ways to get more 'new blood' helping out with things like XpDay.
  • Defining concrete bounded tasks that need doing which offer people a way to incrementally get involved in things like XpDay.
  • Another interesting thing that's going on at the moment is organization of the London AgileSeminars. We're looking to make these more of a community event than in the past. Being involved would give you a good idea what involvement in XPDay is like without the same level of commitment. If you're interested you could start by talking to RachelDavies or DuncanPierce or by signing up on the existing AgileSeminars page.

Speak for all the past organisers of XpDay, we really really want to encourage new people from XtC to get involved in organising events and making meetings more interesting/fun. Please attend Xtc20050322 if you would like to share your opinion and/or get involved. --RachelDavies

The write-up from Xtc20050322 is at EvolutionOfXtc. --DuncanPierce
