As MartinFowler said in his keynote at XpDay, there are some XpPractices? that can be introduced in isolation by individuals, namely TestFirstProgramming and ContinuousIntegration. By catching your own bugs earlier - all the time - you can demonstrate the advantages of Xp in a practical fashion to the rest of your team and department.

So, as it gets harder to change jobs in the current economic climate, perhaps its time to introduce change into our current jobs.

"If you can't change your organisation then change your organisation" as it were ;-)

NB: The "think..." slogan actually belongs to the environmental movement but I reckon it also applies in spades to the introduction of new ideas and practices such as XP -- TimBacon
