SuSE? update kills workstationSuSE? watch has updated my kernel on my workstation, and now it doesn't boot. The problem![]() This was easy to resolve with GRUB. In the original kernal boot log The initial error had complained "should be 2.6.8-24.13-smp". So I edited the initrd boot parameter to be: initrd (hd0,2)/boot/initrd-2.6.8-24.13-smp This booted fine (others may have different disks and paths). Then I had to correct the symlink as detailed in the problem post above. I also added an entry that doesn't use the symlinks, so this can't happen again (unless the kernel and initrd are deleted!). I may consider asking for the funds from XTC to buy storix (459 USD). I've liked storix so far. Need to test a full system restore though.
