Topics for discussion:
- ProjectBrainstorming - Should we start a project? Hack on an existing project?
- TheClientSide? - some interesting developments we could possibly discuss...
-
- There is an ongoing discussion about what programming language should be used to create the free software stack that makes up the Linux Gnome and Ximian Desktop projects. Mono
is a good choice, and has already been used a fair bit, but java has been raised as one alternative. There seems to be bindings so that java code can call the Gtk native user interface components. Issues involved are mostly legal as opposed to technical.
- In Mac OSX, Java code can call the native Cocoa user interface, and link into NIB view components. It's possible to create a truly native OS X application in Java.
