I have been experimenting with this type of approach to programming/software development for many years. I came across the concept of pair programming, constant testing and collaborative ownership over 11 years ago whilst working with Trevor Jenkins and Marc Dompietrini at Parlog UK years before joining BT.

Kent's book was like permission and justification to do many of the type of things I had been struggling to do with development teams I have led over the years since getting the crazy idea back then that it should all be fun and productive at the same time.

My current team is using as much of XP as we can, which is quite a bit.

I enjoyed the XP day and the socializing afterwards. Nice to know that there are so many switched on people out there.
