JSPWiki v2.0.52

AllanKelly

Only one year two months since I created this page and I'm finally getting around to updating it.

I work for Actix where I've been introducing new Agile techniques - its an interesting case study itself. Our twist, we're a C++ house (if C++ and Agile interests you check out our website, we're usually recruiting.)

What interests me most is how you change - one day your not agile, and you want to be, how do you get from here to there?

Which actually turns out to be far more important question because

  • By developing software your changing the way your customers work
  • Once you are Agile you can still get better, but you need to continue to change

And that's why I've never been happy with Kent's "do this, do 100%, if your only doing 80% of this your not XP" - OK people tell me he's changed but still, I don't like XP because it isn't flexible.

And that leads me to where I'm at: Learning

  • You learn you change
  • You change you learn
  • Knowledge = Information + Action

Only its more complicated than that... Maybe it should be

  • Change in knowledge = Change in Information * Change in Action

So, I'm engaged in testing this theory out.

Still if you want to know more my website is www.allankelly.net
Plenty more on learning in my ACCU Overload pieces
And if you want the full story take a look at my MBA dissertation - Software Development as Organizational Learning.
