- where the customer is allowed to exactly specify the duration, cost, quality level, performance, and requirements all up front (and having done so wants nothing more to do with the project until the delivery date 12 months hence!)
- where management by gantt chart replaces taking an active role in tackling problems
- where corporate politics is more important than the success of the project
- where the architecture or design is specified by an AlmightyArchitect (with their own CV interests at heart) who do not have to implement what they hand down from on high but reserve the right to criticise any deviation from their blueprint
- where overtime is expected to meet any deadline no matter how arbitrary (and worse, where it the amount of overtime you do determines your manager's opinion of you)
