Towards the end of the evening, we were talking about the woes of version control and how we could really do with version control integrated into the filesystem. Found www.netcraft.com.au/geoffrey/katie/ - haven't tried it yet. --- Hmm, I wonder if its worth building something for Windows tools, along the lines of SMB, Windows Explorer "Plug in" ? Any ideas ? --- PaulS
This is the goal of corporate document management systems. If they're tightly enough integrated, they can give the illusion of file-system version control. I have a feeling some of the flashier source code control systems do offer windows explorer plugins, which could allow non-techies to use them for all documentation. Starteam springs to mind. Of course I could be entirely wrong. --DarrenH
I was talking to someone (Joe?) about use of CrC cards as an alternative to UML, perhaps we could have a session at a future XtC where those interested could have a go at trying them out ? --- RachelD
