ChrisCottee will be there, more pondering than agonizing
SteveF was at home, not very well. He hopes to be up in time for the next LombardLeavingDo.
RobHamilton and PaulineBall? of Ratio Group would like to come and see what you guys are up to, and coz I like the pub.
Special Feature - as the gorgeous Sony Vaio N505SN? is rapidly becoming the trademark laptop of Extreme Tuesday clubmembers, we review its successor, the SR1K.
Rob and Pauline showed us their Extreme Programming Masterclass course. The material is essentially the TheBook and C2Wiki reworked (however it looked nicely formatted and more approachable). We raised issues with hands on experience, which they both took an board as a fair comment (they have access to good XP contacts whom they have hired to help them with the course).
We had a long discussion about which principles you can start with (echoes of our OtXpBalloonDebate from OT-2000) - we raised the issue that its a very difficult balance to maintain and dropping any practice is very tricky.
We also discussed the cost of recruitment - which can be measured in a good xp team by their LoadFactor (at ConneXtra we have measurements of this and can see the impact). This was an issue close to Paulines's heart and she wanted to discuss it more. -- TimM
