I suggest that it'll be easier/more likely that things will get done if there is a Chair. As Rachel did lots last year and has already done quite a bit this year, and seems willing to do the job, I nominate RachelDavies as Chair. If anyone disagrees, please speak up before the end of July, otherwise take it that Rachel has been "elected" as Chair. IvanM

We have a list of organizers now, but if you would like to help in some way but can't commit a lot of time please add you're name to XpDay2Helpers
As an informal community group we have no admin staff to delegate the work to. I've listed some of the things the organizers did did last year to give you a flavour of what needs to be done. --RachelD
Visit venues, arrange booking, decide on how many rooms required, refreshment breaks, equipment, install software on workstations for practicals, buy pens, deliver lego and other workshop materials.
Find out cost of delegate pack materials, buy folders, organize printing, folder stuffing and deliver to venue.
Liase with OOPS group for funds, work out budget, keep track of costs, keep accounts, arrange registration, sort out speaker expenses.
Answer loads of emails from people wanting to register.
Plan a balanced programme which represents XpDeveloper.
Liase with sponsors.
Produce web pages for the site (inc programme,registration,speaker bios)
Produce advert copy for publicity in industry press
Come along to meetings to approve decisions leading to above
