I've been working in various object-oriented languages since 1987 with a particular fondness for Smalltalk. It seems I'm one of the small number of people (including JohnNolan) who've implemented transactions in Smalltalk.

I've gone through the progression from programmer, to designer, to architect, to programmer. These days I'm interested in improving the testing we're doing and, in particular, making tests run fast. A paper on this topic from XP2001 is available at www.xp2001.org/papers/Chapter21-Smith+alii.pdf.

Coming out of XP2001 I'm eager to try JesTer to improve the test coverage for an application we are developing in house at www.clearstreamconsulting.com
