Open Space is the agile way of holding a meeting. Since first being introduced in the mid 1980's, Open Space Technology has been used by groups of up to 1000 participants to organize themselves and deal with complex issues. Check out www.openspaceworld.org/english/index.html and www.martinleith.com/openspace/welcome.html

OpenSpace was a session at XpAgileUniverse2002 run by Ann Anderson and ChetHendrickson?. See www.xpuniverse.com/openSpace

"The open space was one of the highlights of the conference. Many believe the entire conference could be held this way. There were ~30 topics discussed. The discussions were captured on a wiki, which should be live sometime in the next few days/weeks. There were discussions with 2 people and discussions with 50+. Almost all of the feedback I heard was positive. The one concern was that there was simply too much good stuff to participate in." --Lowell Lindstrom, ObjectMentor
