Format is informal, round-the-table natter. With the emphasis on no stress, chilled (but no cannabis, please). It's like ExtremeTuesdayClub
Success is indicated by new inspiration and cross-fertilisation ('What? You've already coded that?'; 'I had the same idea in the bath last night!', etc.).
Acceptable subjects of discussion are not limited to XP:
Open Source; XML-based architectures; J2EE/EJB/.NET; Agile/ Continuous Integration; UML; Linux; vi/emacs/IntelliJ; my swanky Sharp Zaurus; your swanky iPAQ; MacOs? X; EAI and B2B?; P2P?; Intellectual Property; DMCA; GPL; Asynchronous and Declarative architectures; Slashdot/SourceForge/ Freshmeat/Kuro5hin/Advogato, my weblog's hotter than yours; my dot-com bombed bigger than yours, etc., etc.
When and Where:-
Thursdays from noon, upstairs in the Artillery Arms (go up Moorgate towards Finch's, keep walking to the cemetery past the artillery/barracks entrance, walk through the cemetery and it's right there). The appropriately-named 'AA' pub serves fine Fuller's ales and nice grub, and upstairs is spacious, bright and airy. Soft drinks and/or single pints are acceptable, given the pressures of work.
